About Me
I’m Mark Prime, founder of Prime Advocacy. I’ve spent over two decades in senior management and director-level roles — training frontline staff on ICO best practices, managing recruitment, and shaping how organisations handled sensitive data.
Inside the system I saw patterns: vulnerabilities weren’t just missed — they were exploited. The easiest people to pressure were those least able to push back. That had to change.
So I changed sides. Now I use the same tools — SARs, Article 21 objections, redress under Article 82, FCA frameworks — but from the other side of the table.
What clients get from me
- Clarity fast: a written plan, deadlines, and who owns what.
- Evidence first: we build the file (records, logs, risk assessments) before arguing.
- Targeted escalation: ICO/FCA/councils/MPs only when the thresholds are met.
Timeline
- 2005–2015: Corporate data governance and training.
- 2016–2023: Compliance leadership, ICO best‑practice training.
- 2024–present: Advocacy for vulnerable people.
How I handle vulnerability
- Email‑first communication; no cold calls.
- Plain‑English plans and realistic response times.
- Reasonable adjustments on request.
Professional boundaries
I don’t take every case. I focus on situations where process has clearly trumped people, or where records simply don’t support what’s being done.
